Age Stronger, Live Better

My Story

Hi, I'm Trad. When I turned 50, something shifted in me. I looked around and realized that if I didn't take control of my health — right then, right there — no one else was going to do it for me. So I made a decision. I started strength training.

What happened next surprised me. I didn't just feel better — I got stronger. Not a little stronger. Genuinely, measurably, undeniably stronger than I had been in years. And that changed everything about how I saw aging.

Over the past 5 to 10 years on this journey, I've lost weight, built real muscle, and — maybe most importantly — found a mental clarity and confidence I didn't know was missing. Strength training didn't just change my body. It changed my mindset.

The Mantra That Drives Me

Early on in my journey, I came up with a simple philosophy that keeps me going every single day:

"Be stronger at 60 than I was at 50. Be stronger at 70 than I was at 60. Then hold on to that strength for as long as I can."

That's it. That's the whole game plan. It's not about being perfect. It's not about looking like a fitness model. It's about proving — to yourself and to everyone around you — that aging doesn't have to mean decline.

Why I Built This Community

When I started this journey, I looked around for people like me — men and women in their 50s and beyond who were actually doing the work, getting stronger, and sharing what they learned. They weren't easy to find.

Most fitness content is aimed at 25-year-olds. The advice, the workouts, the language — it doesn't speak to where we are in life. Our bodies have different needs. Our schedules are different. Our goals are different. And

we've earned the right to an approach that respects all of that.

That's why I created Getting Older and Stronger. This is a community built by someone who is living this journey right alongside you — not a certified trainer talking at you from a pedestal, but a real person in their 50s who figured out that strength, health, and vitality are absolutely still within reach. And I want to help you find that for yourself.

What You'll Find Here

On this site you'll find honest, practical information on strength training that actually works for people over 50, nutrition advice focused on fueling muscle and supporting a healthy body as we age, and real talk about the mental side of fitness — staying motivated, overcoming setbacks, and building a mindset that carries you forward. Most of all, you'll find a community of people who get it. People who are on the same road, facing the same challenges, and celebrating the same victories.

You're in the Right Place

If you're over 50 and you've been told — by society, by your doctor, or by that little voice in your head — that your best days of physical strength are behind you, I'm here to tell you that's simply not true. I'm living proof. And there are thousands of others just like us who are proving it every day.

Welcome to Getting Older and Stronger. I'm glad you're here. Now let's get to work.

— Trad
